What is Bowenwork®
Your body has the tools to heal itself - sometimes, it just needs a reminder. That’s where Bowenwork® comes in.
Through small, gentle movements, Bowen sends signals to the brain, guiding your body out of fight-or-flight mode and into a state of rest and repair. In today’s world, stress keeps us in defense mode, always bracing, always protecting. Bowen tells your body, You’re safe now. And when the body feels safe, it can finally prioritize healing…

FAQ
-
Bowen uses light, precise touch to speak to the body through the fascia and lymphatic system.
When touch is too forceful, the body can tense up and go into protection mode.
Bowen takes the opposite approach, gentle movements signal safety to the nervous system, helping the body relax and shift into healing.
We follow the principle that less is best.

Your comfort is my top priority. Bowen is most effective when performed directly on the skin, so if you’re comfortable undressing to your undergarments, that’s ideal, but absolutely not required.
If you prefer to stay clothed, please wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and non-restrictive clothing.
You’ll be draped with a sheet throughout the session, and I’ll ensure you remain properly covered at all times.

Bowen works by sending subtle signals to your nervous system, which operates on a two-way feedback loop.
The short pauses between sets of moves (usually 2 to 5 minutes) give your body time to process and respond without being overwhelmed.
During these pauses, many clients notice sensations like temperature shifts, gentle waves of energy, deeper breathing, or simply relaxing so deeply they fall asleep.
These wait times are an important part of allowing the body to shift into balance and healing.

Yes, you can receive other forms of bodywork while doing Bowen, but it’s highly recommended to allow time between sessions.
Bowenwork sets a healing process in motion that can continue for up to 10 days. Introducing another therapy too soon, like massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, or energy work, may interrupt that process.
The same goes in reverse: other therapies also take time to integrate, and adding Bowen too quickly afterward could disrupt the benefits already underway.
This recommendation isn’t about avoiding other modalities, it’s about giving your body the time and space it needs to fully process and heal.
